  • Developments in Pilot Sites!

An important milestone in the EPIC-HUB project, with TSG's personnel receiving its first training lesson on the running prototype delivered by THALES. The system will be used very soon to plan the photovoltaic power plant to be installed on the roof of TSG's offices. This is not a simple task because the new system will have to be managed under the "Efficient System of Users" (SEU) model, the Italian law regulating energy neighbourhoods: ENERGRID will be the owner of the PV plant, selling the energy to TSG, the final consumer.

  • Wednesday and Thursday next will open the 3rd meeting of the Consortium EPIC-HUB with D'Appolonia, Thales Italia, Eidgenoessische Technische Hochschule Zurich, Institut Mihajlo Pupin, Acciona Infraestructuras, Fundacion Tekniker, Honeywell, Panoramic Power, Terminal San Giorgio, Energrid , Bilbao Exhibition Centre, hosted by the Institute Mihajlo Pupin in Belgrade.
The project, funded by the European Union , is the development of new methodologies, services and ICT infrastructure to optimize the overall energy management of a group of several buildings, or a district, as neighborhood.
EPIC-HUB covers all aspects directly or indirectly related to efficient energy management, control decision support, and defines a fully interoperable middleware solution. It is capable of providing an organized view of energy flows can be used by all the actors involved (for example, infrastructure operators, utilities, ESCOs).
This is possible thanks to the combination of ICT systems - existing and new - and appropriate optimization algorithms, according to the "Energy Hub" model.
There are three places chosen for the testing and validation of the research: Terminal San Giorgio of Genoa (Gavio Group), Nikola Tesla airport of Belgrade and, the Exhibition Center of Bilbao.
